When I arrived, I was approached by someone who was obviously employed with Kohl's pretending to be a customer and asking me and another candidate questions in the perfume department. After she spoke with us the hiring manager approached me and the other candidate for a group style interview, which I didn't enjoy personally. Interviews can already be nerve racking enough, and with certain personalities, this may be a hinderance and a distraction when there's competition in the same room. I know what I'm capable of, and unfortunately this way of interviewing hindered my confidence in the interview as a person who tend to be non-confrontational and non-competitive. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to thrive as a sales associate at other retail stores after that interview. With that being sad, this way of interviewing may work for some, but is not affective for all capable people.
