Easy Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – Yes, but I declined – Sat, 2 Nov 2019

Because of the holidays Kohl's does group interviews so there can be a group of 2-10 or more at a time. They ask basic interviews questions and let everyone answer. Unfortunately, this would only work if you have everyone who is applying for the same position.
We arrived on time but were kept waiting in a small conference room for about half an hour to forty five minutes to fill out a scheduling questionnaire. When the hiring manager appeared, she informed us noone told her we were there. As interviewees we are suppose to arrive on time etc but when the interviewer does not we some how have to accept this because we are the ones in need a job but that is basically abuse of power. So far those two points tell me a lot about the company and the mindset of the person interviewing and how they don't value anyone else time..
This Glassdoor sight was brought up in the conversation and the manager mentioned and asked about it several times. She seemed to be concerned about herself and what was said about her as a manager and the experience they had with her. Which was another point of concern for me and if I even wanted to work with someone who wanted to know what was said about her but was scared to actually see what was said about her as a boss..
She also mentioned that she tells everyone even if they don't get hired by Kohl's for that interview not to be concerned that we can always apply again for a different position, or in April/ May when they look to hire ppl again.
My issue with that statement is they don't value you at that time, they want you to reapply in a few months in case they like you then..
From this entire experience with the Kohl's interview, I would not accept a job if I am hired nor would I apply again if I am not ..
What made things difficult in the interview is when there is a question and everyone wants to answer at the same time. Of course everyone takes turns but the interviewer won't sit and wait for everyone to answer especially in a larger group.
