Average Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Sun, 24 Mar 2019

Interviewed Jan 2,019 in Columbus, OH (took 4 days)
Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter shortly after. Onsite interview was set up since I was a local candidate. Recruiter informed me that there would only be the one interview and then a decision would be made. Interview was conducted in 3 rounds. Ops Mgr/HR Rep, HR Mgr/Ops Mgr, then facility tour with Supervisor while being interviewed. Everyone was professional/courteous. No real questions about metric achievement, process improvement, or industry knowledge. The questions were ALL based on employee engagement. A lot of the same questions were repeated in each of the rounds. They are definitely looking for ALL success stories about how people love working with you and how you inspire each and every person you've led into becoming a total all-star. I honestly don't think you can over do it. They love to tout how great their culture is and how much their leaders inspire. So any sort of humility or example of learning from a mistake or something that didn't go well will hurt your chances. Every person you worked with has to have been overjoyed by your leadership presence. Struck me as a culture where deflecting failures of yours and spot lighting your slightest successes is common place to advance versus owning mistakes/learning from them and being humble about achievement. I could be wrong though. After interview, recruiter left VM stating they (the recruiter) would contact me with a decision in 3 days. Was "ghosted" for about 2 1/2 weeks while I sent one check-in email each week. Recruiter did finally get back to me to inform me I was not selected. Since the job was reposted the day after my interview and the recruiter did not follow up with me in the date promised this wasn't a surprise to me.
