Very Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 6 Jan 2015

Was called for an interview after completing a job application online. I got the call as a voice mail and called the store back 30 minutes later to confirm an appointment for an interview. I was told that the HR manager had gone home for the day, but for the position I had applied for, they were holding open interviews all Wednesday and that I should show up between 10 and 2. When I arrived I waited in the break room for 20+ minutes after being directed there by the ladies at the service desk. Four employees in the break room had a lot of fun talking about how new employees had no idea what they were getting themselves into and how terrible everything was at the store that day. The HR manager eventually came out and wondered that they had not given me a specific appointment time. I guess they were supposed to, when I called back, and they simply didn't offer one. When I told him my position at my current job, he said he came from the same company and was surprised they still had that position, basically dismissing me as irrelevant. Then he asked me three questions and seemed impressed with my answers. Then he informed me the position was part-time when it had been advertised as full-time. When I expressed surprise, he proceeded to dismiss me altogether, telling me there were 6 other people in line ahead of me for the job with way more than my 12 years of experience. The interview was very short and I didn't bother to leave him with a resume. Judging by this interview I'm sure working for the company is a joke, anyway.
