Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 3 Nov 2014

Interviewed Oct 2014 in Beaumont, CA(took 5 days)
I applied online through Snagajob and the hiring manager reached out to me 2 days later which took me out of surprise because usually I'm the one reaching out to companies I apply to. She called me Tuesday morning, left a message because I was out. I called her the next morning and I was scheduled an interview for Thursday 3pm (I had two time options). I spent the whole day researching all I could about kohls and the interview process. I arrived super early (almost an hour early!) and as a result I got to meet the hiring manager. I think that worked to my advantage. She was super nice and told me I could look around the store while the others arrived. From reading the interview processes on here, I knew this was going to be a group interview. After some time when I was sure others had arrived I headed back to the employees room. Sure enough there was 3 other people. We sat around a table. There ended up being a total of 8 of us. Two of the managers including the hiring manager interviewed us. I was fully prepared because from the questions on here. Thanks Glassdoor! Now because we sat around the table, they went around the table and each gave our own responses. Because I was the second person I was still able to give my own responses whereas the others behind me had similar answers or would say "I agree with what she said" or "like she said" That is one disadvantage about group interviews is being able to come up with your own responses. Regardless all but 2 got the job. One of them being a girl with a full sleeved tattoo and several piercings on her face. She also wore a sleeveless shirt. com'on common sense girl! After they asked us questions, the two managers left the room to "look" over our applications. They don't tell you directly you didn't get the job. For those they intend on hiring they say something like "your application was incomplete. Stay behind to complete them" After the 2 that didn't get hired left the room, they told us they wanted to hire us. They had us sign the background form and availability and told us they would call us in a week to start our orientation. One thing I really liked was the managers made us feel welcomed.
